Our Almelo-based Customer Care department is looking for a talented Customer Support Engineer who has knowledge in Linux and is equipped with good communication skills.

The Customer Care team is responsible for the support of our customers. We help monitor systems and perform regular health checks. We help our customers worldwide when they face problems or technical failures in equipment and systems for the Group 2000 products covering mainly the following domains: LIMA Lawful Intercept, LIMA Data Retention, LIMA Network Protect and LIMA Cell Monitor. The Customer Care team contributes towards continual improvement processes within the context of Maintenance & Support and the SLA contracts. Client satisfaction levels are upheld as a result of maintaining and managing the products and services by achieving, and preferably exceeding, the service levels agreed with our clients.

Your main tasks

  • Provides 2nd and 3rd line support;
  • Deep dives into problems to guide the team in tackling complex technical issues reported by the customer;
  • Carries out project’s software and configuration changes both O.S. and Group 2000 software related, including planned nocturnal activities;
  • Initiates improvements to improve support and monitoring of the systems.

Job requirements & skills

  • Professional Education (Information Technology/Computer Science (ICT & IT Service Management);
  • Hands-on mentality with a can-do approach;
  • Good analytical skills, enjoys problem-solving and is a great troubleshooter;
  • 1 to 5 years of work experience in operating and maintaining enterprise Linux environments;
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (both verbal and written);
  • Linux (RHEL9/CentOS7/Ubuntu);
  • Experience with configuration management tools (such as Ansible & SaltStack);
  • Experience with scripting;
  • Alibility to travel to customer on planned and occasionally ad-hoc bases;
  • The role is part of the on-call rotary for the 24×7 customer support function.


  • Market standard monitoring software (such as Nagios);
  • Networking certification (CCNA, CCDA or CCNP or CCDP);
  • SQL (PostgreSQL);
  • Containers (Docker);
  • Operating/maintaining Apache Cassandra;
  • ITIL and similar IT management frameworks;
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Puppet & Chef);
  • RAN (Radio Access Networks) infrastructures (2G, 3G, 4G and 5G).
