The main responsibility of a Global Account Director is to find, develop and build up business with new customers in the Telecom operator market segment, as well as relevant partner networks and technology partners. Furthermore, the development and building up of business in a (qualified) international partner network on behalf of the government market segment (police – security forces).

An important condition for the realization of this role, is that you have a strong, proven and successful experience in this market, an active network on C level and affinity for (complex) ICT, Radio Network, and core network telecommunication challenges, as well as cyber security, signaling technology and related intelligence. You are very well used to win new customers – RFP’s. You are able to think in terms of concepts, you are a strategic and conceptual seller, you apply a pragmatic and structured approach and you are able to develop relationships which you can convert commercially to achieve the objectives set for the company and on a personal level.

Preferably you are already experienced with suppliers for the aforementioned markets and/or you have completed (customized) projects for a system integrator/ software company.

Your main tasks

  • The acquisition of (inter)national customers and prospects (make the account plan, visiting reports, set up sales forecasts, etc.);
  • Distribute the received Purchase Orders to the relevant stakeholders in accordance with the procedure laid;
  • The selling of multi-year support agreements;
  • Further developing a constructive relationship with potential customers on tactical and strategical level;
  • To provide input for new PMC’s;
  • Applying the product-, service- and pricing policy;
  • To negotiate on a strategic and tactical level;
  • Before signing the contract, the Global Account Director is involved in the early phases with all the stakeholders regarding all aspects of the project;
  • Actively executing account management en actively involved in informal contacts (network);
  • To provide customers with high quality offers;
  • In case of an assignment, the Global Account Director is responsible for the internal communication by means of a kick-off meeting;
  • Creates a forecast of incoming orders and inquiries;
  • Ensuring the excellent reporting in our CMR-system (Salesforce);
  • Regularly presenting Group 2000 at (inter)national conferences and trade shows.

Job requirements & skills

  • Economics or (Technical) Business Administration;
  • Followed several commercial studies at post bachelor level (i.e. Nyenrode – Erasmus);
  • You are experienced with working with MS Word – Excel – Powerpoint – Outlook, LinkedIn, CRM-systems (Salesforce);
  • Proven success and strong experience with selling complex (IT) projects;
  • Experienced with selling capital goods and long, complex sales cycles and DMU’s;
  • At least 5 years of working experience as an Account Manager/ Key Account Manager or Business Development Manager (proven track record with other IT software and consultancy companies);
  • Relevant experience with selling Service Level Agreements (maintenance agreements, database maintenance of concepts);
  • Excellent communication- and negotiation skills;
  • Customer focused and a quality-aware attitude on working method;
  • Proactive;
  • Good strategical and operational skills;
  • You are independent, but can also work in a team;
  • You are decisive and have problem-solving and analytical skills;
  • You have an extensive network within the international telecom market and/or government;
  • You are honest, creative, driven, flexible, result- and solution orientated and stress resistant;
  • Good knowledge of Dutch and English (both verbal and written) and preferably Spanish;
  • You are (occasionally) willing to travel abroad.
