Group 2000’s R&D department consists of two agile Java development teams, each being responsible for parts of the Product Development and Customer Operations (project implementations). Customer Operations is primarily responsible for project implementations of the solution-specific software for our customers and is in need of a Project Manager.

The Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of a team of software engineers, who simultaneously develop and roll out a number of customer projects. Furthermore, the Project Manager is ultimately responsible for numerous projects starting at the moment from the agreement through to the handover to Customer Care, within the framework of the quantitative and qualitative targets set with regard to organisation, planning, financials, quality, and communication (both external and internal).

Your main tasks

  • Knows how to assign responsibilities to the team members and how to motivate them;
  • To ensure that the team members can do their job well through a facilitating style of leadership;
  • Takes care of the planning and both external and internal communication within the framework of the project;
  • To ensure that all stakeholders are well informed and expectations are being managed;
  • To steer the team and the customer project stakeholders on clear timelines – deadlines;
  • To initiate additional work, in case certain activities of the project are out of scope;
  • To initiate the expected purchase, including the outsourcing within the framework of the project;
  • You provide support to the customer during delivery and to the Customer Care department with your knowledge of the customer solutions;
  • To manage and control the timely billing with regard to the project;

Job requirements & skills

  • HBO/ University degree within a relevant field of study;
  • At least five years of working experience as Project Manager for development teams and complex IT projects (proven track record with other IT software and consultancy companies);
  • Experience with the Agile/ Scrum and ITIL, Prince 2 working method;
  • Excellent communication- and negotiation skills;
  • Customer-focused and a quality-aware attitude on working method;
  • Proactive;
  • Good strategical and operational skills;
  • You are decisive and have problem-solving and analytical skills;
  • You have an extensive network within the international telecom market or government;
  • You are honest, creative, driven, flexible, result- and solution orientated and stress-resistant;
  • Good knowledge of Dutch and English (both verbal and written) and Spanish is an advantage;
  • You are (occasionally) willing to travel abroad.
